THE PREMIER.
Palmerston North, January 25, The Premierjpassed through Palmerston North this morning on his way to Auckland en route for Eng-\ land, Headed by the member of the district and the Mayor, a represetative deputation of citizens waited on Sir Joseph and wished him "bon voyage" and a safe return. The Premier expressed his warm thanks for the thoughtfulness and kind wishes of the residents. ■He informed a reporter that he expected Ito be back in the Colony for the reassembling of Parliament ia June. He also stated that it was I not now intended to appoint a third member of the Native Lands Commission. New Plymouth, January 25 The Premier on the arrival of the mail train to-nigbt was met by a large number of townspeople. In replying to the bon voyage wishes Sir Joseph Ward referred briefly to the Imperial Conference, remarking that so far as himself was concerned he would rather remain in the. colony, for thore was no great pleasure in the trip to one having responsibilities at such a Conference. Nothing could be more encouraging, however, than the good wishes he was receiving . from the people throughout the whole colony. The Prbmier has sailed for Auckland.
