LOifAL HOWARD LODGE. The annual summoned itieetingof the above Lodge was held at the Oddfellows' Hall, Waimea street," on, January 2nd, Noble Grand W. Liddle ffre^iding. The Balance sheet for the past six montbs was read and adopted. The statement of accounts shows the Sick and Funeral Fund to be valued at £7433 4s lid, an increase of £132 15s 4d. The Mariageiiient Fund snows a credit of £22 10s B'd. the Surplus Fund account stands at £1209 0s 4d, the total value of the Lodge being £8665 15s sd. The sick pay disbursed during the last half year was £166 16s 3d. Dr Hudson who has held the position of Surgeon fo* many years, attended and announced his inten tion to retire on the 30th June next, in the meantime Dr Betts has been apppointed as bis locum tenens. It was unanimously resolved that the Lodge place on record its appreciation" of the Services rendered by Dr Hudson during the loug te£m of years, for which he has held the office of Lodge Surgeon, and its regret that circumstances have rendered i% necessary for ! hiitf to sever his connection with the Lodge; Dr. Hudson suitably replied. The following were appointed as delegates to the District meeting, to be held at Richmond next month :— P. P. G. M. 's Bros Batchelor, Moyes, Topliss, Kitching, and Oorder. The following officers were elected for the ensuing six months:— Grand Master Bro W Liddle, Noble Grand Bfo A Stephens, Vice Grand Bro A Daviea, Elective Secretary Bro A Shrimpton, Permanent Secretary A N Batchelor, Treasurer W Moyes. The Provincial Grand Master, Bro A Day, and Deputy Grand Master, Bro G Hammond, were present and invested the incoming officers with their respective sashes, and the thanks of the Lodge were duly accorded to them.
