(From Our Own Correspondent). Another of Nelson's old settlers passed away last Thursday evening in the person of Mrs Wells, relict of the late William Wells, of 88 Valley. The deceased was in her 68th year. She came to Nelson in 1842 with her parents (Mr and Mrs Walter Newport) and lived with them at Appleby, until her marriage, when she and her husband settled in 88 Valley, some 45 years ago. Mr Wells died about seven years ago. During deceased's long residence in 88 Valley the settlers there and also in Quail Valley, have received many kindnesses at her hands, she being famous far and near as a good nurse, and her name will long be remembered among the settlers as a useful neighbor and kind friend. She leaves a family of eleven — seven sons and four daughterß,and 21 grand-children —to mourn her loss. The funeral took place on Saturday in the Spring Grove Cemetery, the Rev. O. R. Hew ett officiating at the service. Wakefield, Dec. 17th, '06. _^
