MASONIC.
SOUTEIERN STAR LODGE, : No. 735, E.G. The installation of Bro. Percy Bond, W.M. -elect of Southern Star Lodge, No. 735, E.C., took place at the Masonic Hall, Collingwood street, on Dec. 4th, when there was a large attendance of brethren, including many visitors from Lodge Victory No. 40, Forest Lodge No. 116 c Lodge Motueka No. 117, and different parts of the Colony. Wor. Bro. Charles Leaper acted as Installing Master, and the duties of Director of Ceremonies were carried out by Wor. Bro. W. Pryor. The investiture of officers was done by Wor. Broa. S. F. Bolton, T. Mant, and E. Richards, and the workingtools were presented, and the various addresses given by different P. M'a. An orchestra, consisting of Wor. Bros J. H. Finney (organ), Wor. Bro. J. Graham (clarionet), Bros. Cleland (cornet), R. H. Martin (violin), McMillan (flute), and H. Lamb (trombone) provided the necessary music. The following officers were duly installed: 1. P.M., Wor. Bro. E. Kichards; S.W., Bro. R. Glossnp: J.W., Bro. E. Fleming? Chaplain, Wor. Bro. E. Fleming; Treasurer, Wor. Bro S.F. Bolton ; Secjetary.Bro. J. McEachen ; S.D., Bro. C. Lamb; J.D., Bro. W. Fieldes; Director of Ceremonies, Wor. Bro. W. Pryor; Organist, Wor. Bro. J. H. Finney; Stewards, Bros. G. L. Sierwright and H. Walker; 1.G., Bro. K. M. Phin ; Tyler, Bro. W. Pellew. At the conclusion of the ceremony the brethren sat down to a cold collation, when a short toast list was gone through. Songs, recitations and musical items were rendered by the brethren, and a pleasant hour spent in social intercourse. The installation of Worshipful Master and Officers of Forest Lodge, No. 116, N.Z.C., took place on Nov. 28th. in their Lodge-room, Worshipful Bro. H. J. Harris being the Installing Master, He was ably Bupponed by Worshipful Bro. J. C. Williams and Worshipful Bro. De Castro. Worshipful Bro. B. H. Moller was Director of Ceremonies. The working tools were presented by Worshipful Bros. Peart, Orsman, Henderson, and A. Baigent, charges by Worshipful Bros. Moyes, Wilkinson and Allan. A large number of Brethren from Lodges "Victory" and "Southern Star" were present. During the ceremony Worshipful Bro. De Oastro, on behalf of the members of Forest Lodge, presented their late Master Worshipful Bro. H. J. Harris witls. a valuable gold jewel in recognition of his services as Master for two years, and the interest he has taken in the welfare and progress of the Lodge. The following were elected officers for the ensuing 12 months :— J. P. M. : Wor. Bro. H. J. Harris; W.M. : Wor. Bro. O. R. Hewlett; S.W. : Bro. W. K. Henderson ; J. W. : Bro. F. W. Smith ;S. D. : Bro. C. A very ; J.D. : Bro. E. McPberson : Secretary : Wor. Bro. E. Edridge; Chaplain: Wor. Bro. F. B. Peart; Treasurer: Wor. Bro. H. J.Harris: I.G. : Bro. Syder; Tyler: Noue elected. The Brethren retired to the Oddfellows' Hall, where an excelent supper was laid out. The usual toasts were given and responded to. The town Brethren returned to Nelson by the 10.30 p.m. train.
