CITY COUNCIL.

An ordinary meeting of this Council was held last night. Present: His Worship the Mayor (Mr J Piper), and Crs Harrison, Atmore, Turner, Hampson, Pettit, Grace, Lightband, and Hounsell.

Cr Hampson took the necessary declaration prior to the reading of minutes.

From Mr T. Vercoe, asking the Council to meet expenses in connection with his brother's death. — Referred to Committee.

From the Secretary of the Hospital Board, asking the Council to allow _the Engineer to recommend best way of improving gas fittings. — Granted.
