ROAD BOARD.

SUBURBAN NORTH

At the monthly meeting of the Suburban North Road Board, there were present :— Messrs W, Gill (chairman), A. G. Denker, A. G. Gill and F. Whitwell.

The minutes were confirmed. Accounts amounting to £20 19a were passed for payment. The Overseer's report was read asking the Board for instructions re clearing noxious weeds off the district's roads ;and re keeping the cutting cleared up the Glen Duan Terrace.

Resolved that the noxious weeds be cleared back by the dayman sufficient to clear the watertables only, and that the cutting at Glen Duan be kept in repair. Correspondence was read. A memorandum was received from the Waim°a County re payment of £42 5s to the Board's credit at Bank, being Government subsidy for rate. Resolved that; the Clerk wait on the Accident Insurance Companies to make the best terms he can and to insure the general employees of the Board.

Resolved that the Clerk acknowledge the letter reoeived from the Inspector of Noxious Weeds, informing him that the Board had passed a resolution not to declare gorse a noxious weed at present, and to point out to the Department that the first schedule of the Act had not been carried out in the district, when that had been carried out, the Board might re-consider their decision. Resolved that Mr Small's offer of a piece of his land at the corner for the sum of £5 be accepted, the amount to be paid when the road is formed and gravelled and completed by the neighbors interested to the satisfaction of the Inspector of the Board. Resolved that the Chairman and Clerk wait on Mr Whit well re opening ap a gravel pit on his property and report on same.
