I TEACHER* TO BE ADVERTISED I FOR. yesterday V meeting of the i (Education Boaid replic9inroforei.ee to agricultural science instruction in schools wero read from the Grey Education Board, offering to contribute for one year, .2100 towards the salary of an instructor, and from tho Buller County Council forwarding £10 for the same purpose. The G'olJingwood County Council wroto,sympathising with the movement, but expressing regret, that the state of the Council's funds precluded them from contributing. Mr Atmore moved that the local bodies be thanked for their contributions.-- Carried. It was reported that the amount availablo towards tho salary of tin { instructor bad reached practically I £500, the Nelson Board having 1 contributed £200, Marlborough Board £100, Grey Board £100, local bodies, together with the Government subsidy, providing the balance. It was resolved on the motion of Mr A tin ore that an advertisement be inserted in the newspapers, calling for applications for position of instructor in agricultural ecience for i the combined districts of Nelson, Marlborough and Grey, at a salary of £300 per annum, with £100 travelling allowances. , The question of an instructor was discussed in ;t conversational man- ; ncr, and it was generaly agreed that he services of an efficient teacher ould be obtained in the Colony.
