Mr Milner corroborated the latter Statement, aud aaid those present wero appointed to canva&s the youDg men of Nelson to see what support an Association would receive from them. Mr Christie aaid ho bad made a canvas, and a boat thirty young men cbnuected with the 'Methodist Churcn were willing to join, also twelve to fifteen from the Baptist Church. Kempthorne thought an attempt should be made to gee Mr Jjudd or some one to visit Nelson and enlighten the public on the subject. Mr Jennt-os stated Mr Budd had returned to Canada. After some further discussion, Rev. J. P. Kempthorne moved, and Mr Gilmour seconded, that Mr Holmes, the Secretary of the Wellington Association, be invited to come to Nelson and give an address ao the subject, with a riew to help Forward the movement. Carried unanimously. Mr Jensens was deputed to send ibo invitation to Mr Holmes. lo reply to a question, Mr Thomas b'ield said he thought the expenses connected with Mr Holmes' visit ! .•ould be paid out of the interest I jeeruing from the fund in baud, i The principal could not be toucheJ, is that was in trust for building ! purposes only.
