Wellington. June 17. The P.oard of Di rectors of the fßank of New Zealand resolved: — I "That the Board desires to place on I record its. deep sense cf the very | sreat loss sustained l>y the Colony ; through the sleath of the Hight : Hon, R. .7. Seddon, Prime Minister of New Zealand, nnd to record its high appreciaton of the eminent services reudered by him to the Colony, and also of tbe action taken in 1891 by tho Government of which bo was heart. in promoting legislation wherehy assistance from the State whs iV-rorded the Han it of Xew '/eahsnd. ami iiius by coming to the rescue of the Bank averting a widespread financial disaster throughout the country. The Board desires, further, to convoy to Mrs Seddon and her family its profound sym pathy with them in their great sorrow.'"
