SYMPATHY WITH THE BEREAVED FAMILY.

On : Wednesday, before opening the bazaar now being held in the Druids' Hall in connection with St. John's Methodist Sunday School, ' the Key. C. H. Garland, the Pastor, said he felt as it waa the first public function at which they had gathered together since the death, w«th tragic suddenness, of the Premier, it waa his duty to pay a humble tribute to the great statesman who had passed away. All would indeed sympathise with the widow and family in their sad bereavement. When a statesman died he ceased to be a politician, and they would all remember that the measures brought forward by the late Premier were for the uplifting of the people, and were surrounded by a humanitarian atmosphere. He expressed his sympathy with the country in the death of this most able administrator.
