A PATIENT SCALDED FATALLY.
Chi'istchurch, April 18. A female patient has died at Avon- j dale Mental Hospital owing to being j scalded. Deceased was receiving a j bath, when the nurse left her in j charge of another patient, in order] to answer a ring at the door. Dur- | ing the nurse's absence the other j patient, by mistake, turned on the i hot water tap. Medical assistance \ was obtained, but the patient died. I The Coroners'jury returned a verdict of accidental death, and added no one was to blame. j
