H.Z. FARMERS UNION. The Nelson Provincial Executive of the Farmers' Union met at the Oddfellows' Hall, Richmond, on Friday, Sept. Bth. The delegates present were Messrs R. H. Turner (President), C. J. Ruffel (Vice-Pre-sident), J. W. Win, I. Tunnichffe, and W. D. Harkness (Secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs G. E. Chisnall and E. S. Hoult. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. !" Resolved, on the motion of Mr Turner, seconded by Mr Win, that this Executive wishes to express reIgret at the death of Mr James Thomas at Wakefield, who was a valued member of the Farmer-s' Union, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs Thomas, with best wishes for future welfare of herself and family. Mr Tunnicliffe reported *on the business transacted at the Colonial Conference held in Wellington in July last, commenting on the findings of the Land Commission, and claimed justification of the attitude of the Union in advocating the freehold option, especially in view \ of the Premier's recent proposalsjwito.
