Coaacil, held on the 6th inst, a Resolution was passed to the effect that for the purpose of repaying an existing Loan of £4000, a Speoial Loan of £4000 be raised by Debentnres of £100 each, bearing interest at ihe rate of 4£ per cent per annum, and repayable at the expiratiou of 30 years from date of issue ; thai a sinking f and of 1J per cent of amount borrowed be provided ; and that a speoial rate of one penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property in tha j City of Nelson be pledged as security for] suoh Loan and the interest and sinking fund thereof.
