NELSON COLLEGE V. CHRISTCHURCH BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL.
Christchurch, August 20. The Inter-Collegiate match Nelson College versus Christchurch Boys' High School was played at Christchurch this afternoon, and resulted in a win for the visitors by twentyfive points to eight. For the College tries were scored by Sandel (three), Ross (two), Harvey, and Bamford. Sandel converted two of the scores. For High School,Mackay and Guthrie scored tries, the latter converting one. Till shortly after half time play was very even, but the High School boys then went tc pieces. So far this year the High School were never defeated, having scored over three hundred points it their matches. The College win, although unexpected, was very popular. Mackay, the High iSchool full back, had his collarbone broken. Another correspondent wires: — The Nelson College fifteen met the Christchurch Boys' High School a1 Hagley Park this afternoon, before a l&rge attendance of spectators. The event aroused great interest, as neither team had been defeated xx\ till that time. The game, whicfc proved the most interesting exhi bition of football given in this year's inter-Col egiate tournament, resulted in a win for Nelson Colleg< by twenty-five points to eight. Sever tries were scored for Nelson, o: which two were converted. Sandel, Rout, and Ross gave a brilliant dis play of scientific football, and playec up to their best form. The Nelsor team were accorded a great ovatior by an assembly of old Nelson Col legians.
