Stud Sheep.— Yesterday, Messrs G. and A. Hunt, of Wakfield, shipped by the s.s. Pateena fifty Shropshire Down rams, which will be forwarded to Sydney by the Mararoa, leaving Wellington to-day. We believe this to be the first shipment cf stud sheep sent from Nelson to Australia, and Messrs Hunt Bros, are to be congratulated upon their enterprise. Presentation. —At the annual meeting of the Athletic Cricket Club, the retiring secretary, Mr A. W. Clayden, who has held the position for the past eleven years, wai presented by his Club mates with a smoker's companion as a recognition of the valuable services he Las rendered the Club. Eulogistic reference was made to Mr Clayden's services both on and off the field.
