SARTORIAL ARTISTS EN FETE.

The visit ot a team of footballers drawn from the ranks of "Knights of the garment" resident in Wellington has caused no small amount of enthusiasm among the sisters and brethren of the craft in Nelson, who have displayed the utmost unanimity in the desire to give the visitors a hearty welcome, and make their stay in Nelson as pleasant as possible. The visitors were, on Sept. Bth, the guests at a social held in their honor at the Oddfellows' Hall, and tbis proved a most successful and pleasant function. Mr B. Crisp, as Chairman of the entertainment committee, welcomed the visitors in a happy speech, in which he referred to the good fellowship that was likely to accrue from such visits, and mentioned that the local tailors would probably form a cricket club, and be able to send an eleven to the Empire City. Hearty cheers were given for the visitors, and dancing was started, about seventy couples taking part therein, Mies Fowler supplying the music, and Messrs A. Jackson and W. Gay acting as M. 'sC. The banner was the work of Mrs Baird, Messrs Everett Bros, supplying the materials. The visitors will be taken fora drive to the Glen to-morrow T and leave for Wellington on Monday
