THE INQUEST.

Wellington, April 13.- j At the inquest on the late Mr J. . i C. Andrew, who was bushed while deer-stalking, the evidence showed | that the cause of death was damp j and cold. The left leg was bruised ; below the knee, which would impede _ walking. No bones were broken or : sprained. From the appearance of • the body it was evident that the un- j [fortunate man had travelled through ; very rough country and dropped from > exhaustion. The deceased's body was found about nine miles from hi 3 camp, and about two miles from ; another camp of deerstalkers. The verdict was that the late Mr J. C. Andrew died from exposure and exhaustion. TBE FUNERAL. The body of th? late Mr J. C. Andrew was brought to town to-day for barial.
There wag a large attendance at the fune- li ral. Among those present were the Pre- s mier, the Native Minister (Mr Carroll), the o Mayor and several Councillors, members of the Law Society. Acclimatisation Society, Wellesley Clab/Vestry of St. Mirk's Church 0 and other bodies with which deceased was j connected. t;
