I Obituary.— lt is ; with regret that we announce to-day the* death of Mr Joseph Webley, of Vanguard street, who came to Nelson with his father- forty-six years ago, and was associated with hie father and brothers in the manufacture of the well-known Nelson tweeds. One day last month the deceased was talking to his wife, when he was seized with ! a pain in the head, and fell to the 'ground. Dr. Andrew was called in, and gave it as his opinion that a blood vessel of the brain had burst. The most careful nursing failed to bring the sufferer back to health, and from the time of attack until death he was unconscious, except for the first few days. The deceased waa a carpenter by trade, which occupation he was following up to the time of the attack. He was a good workman, popular among many friends, yet quiet and unassuming withal. His age was 63, and he leaves a wife and two grown-up daughters.
