The United States navy possesses i man who is claimed to be the cham pion naval gunner of the world. Henry Ward Treanor is his name, and he is a gin pointer on the battleship Indiana. His record consists oi hitting the bullseye of a target 160 C yards distant four times in 2 minute* 13secs, the vessel meanwhile moving at a speed of eight miles an hour. The bullseye measured four feet square, but seen from the vessel H seemed scarcely more than foui inches square. It is only two yean since Treanor enlisted in the navy.
