Good Sport. — Deer stalkers in the Whangamoa district have had some very good sport this season, and included among those who made the Half-way House their headquarters were two visitors from Australia, who were exceedingly well satisfied with their luck. On the Half-way House property alone this season there been shot one twelve pointer, four ten pointers, four nine j pointers and six eight pointers — nearly every beast being very fat. — While upon the subject of deer stalking, we may mention that many stalker 3 consider it a great mistake to allow stags with less than eight points to be shot, and that strenuous efforts should be made to put down the slaughter of hinda as well as small stags for cheap meat. Wo have before referred to the destruction of hinds, which is said to be done pretty openly in some districts, and it should be borne in mind that the Acclimatization Society offers a substantialireward for information that will lead to a eosviGtioa for poauh»
