Personal.— Mr Archibald Adams, who has been in the offices of Messrs Adams & Kingdon, solicitors of this city, for seme years, has left Nelson for six months to pursue his studies at the Christchurch University. Mr Adams has taken a prominent place in football and rowing circles, and as Lieutenant of the Nelson Rifles will be greatly missed.— Mr G. K. Kitching, of the local branch of the Bank of New South Wales, has been transferred to Wellington. Mr Kitching took a great interest in athletics, and was a prominent member of the Nelson Football Club.

Licensing Committee Election. — We learn that the Temperance party have decided to nominate Messrs Franklyn, Pettit and Watson for the Licensing Committee, which gentle men are pledged to support closing the hotels at ten o'clock.
