At the final meeting of subscribers to the Otago and Southland nurses fund a balance of £121 was shown* It was decided to vote £10 to each of the seven-1 nurses, and give the balance to the fallen soldiers' memorial fund It was decided to send a letter of thanks to Major Pilcher for services rendered to the New Zealanders, and to send- him a silver medal as a souvenir.
