Criminals Sentenced.
Auckland. February 23. At the Supreme Court to-day a number of criminal assaults were dtalt with. One man got four years: two young Maoris got ten years each, and were also ordered to receive two floggings each of 25 strokes of the cat; another young Maori got five years; a halfcaste got eight years and two floggings of 25 strokes each ; and a European got ten years. Two men, for breaking and entering, each got twelve months.
