RESULTS OF SELF-DENIAL . WEEK. ;■•_' There was, a large attendance at the local Barracks on No v 5, and the excellent limelight exhibition, kindly given by Messrs Craig and Jeffries, was greatly enjoyed, the pictures being numerous, interesting and beautiful. The results of- the Self-deuial Week in aid of the social work of the Army in these colonies were given, and evoked considerable interest. The territorial returns were shown as follows: — £ ~~ New Zealand .. ..6,748 New South Wales . . 3,920 Victoria .. .. .. 3,550 South Australia .. 2,100 Queensland .. ..2,000 Western Australia .. 1,857 Tasmania.. .. .. 560 Java .. .. .. 540 The total from the territories, so far, is £21,300, but when the complete returns are to hand, it is expected the amount will reach £2-5.000. The Nelson, district raised £425, of which £157 10s is credited to Nelson city; £35 to Motueka; and £32 10s to Uollingwood. Blenheim raised £200 and Greymouth £337. Of the £157 10s collected in Nelson, city, Staff-Captain Rowley collected £92 10s, in sums averaging one guinea.
