CHRIST CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOLS.
There was a crowded attendance at the Shelbourne-stveet Sunday School last evening at the annual prize giving. The Vicar, the Bey J. P. Kempthorne presided. After the singing of a hymn, and prayer, he addressed the scholars and parents present. He expressed his pleasure at seeing so many present, and then briefly referred to the history of the English Church, pointing out that there were churches and bishops of the English Church long before Augustine landed in England at the head of the Eoman Mission. Eeference was made to the ancient church buildings still standing in Englaud, and he appealed to the scholars present to do their best to grow up worthy members of a Church with such a grand history as the English Church.
