MOORE, 949 Returning Officer.^ The Mayoral Election, TO THE BURGESSES OF NELSON. Ladies and Gentlemen, — After a rest from the cares and labour of public life for sixteen months, and in response to a largely and influentially signed requisition, I have the honor of again seeking your suffrages for election as Mayor of Nelson. When I retired from the office I announced that I was in need of the rest which I have taken, but I never stated that I intended to retire altogether from the civic arena. In fact, as I am in the full enjoyment of my health and strength, I fail to see that it can be expected so long as you have confidence in my ability to serve you. If you give me your support I pledge myself in the future, as in the past, to do all in my power to further the interests of the city and my fellow citizens. If elected I shall re-enter the Council with the firm determination to see that the administration is effectively carried out. As one with long and varied experience of municipal matters, I feel that, in a Council constituted very largely of new members, I shall be of service in the chair. Hence I need make no excuse or apology for seeking I your suffrages again. \ Trusting that you will continue the support and confidence I have so long enjoyed • from you. I am, Yours obediently, - FRANCIS TRASK. ««te9DiAprUU»il9ol. 100?
