ROAD BOARDS.

EIWAKA. The usual monthly meeting of the above Board wa3 held on Saturday, 6th inst. Present: Messrs Bate (chairman), Fattie, Drummond, C. Fry, J. Fry, and Woolf. The minutes of the previous monthly meeting were read and adopted. Correspondence was received from — Publio Trustee, Wellington, notifying receipt of Board's letter ; Lands and Survey Department, Nelson, notifying application for progress payment, Kaiteriteri-Eiwaka road grant, £100, has been approved ; Waimea County Council, notifying payment of £40, being an instalment of 1900---1901 rates ; Chief Postmaster, notifying receipt of letter of 29 th March pertaining to Road Board notices. The following tenders were received : — Eiwaka Valley road and bridge, grant £200 ; ; building. bridge south branch Biwaka river, Edwin Holdaway and G0.,' £99 10s, James Cook and Co., £79 10s (accepted) ; forming and grading north branch Eiwaka river, T. Holder, £1 19s 6d per chain (accepted). Eesolved that the accounts presented be paid. Cheques were signed for £19 3s 9d. That the Board grant a sum of £3 towards road leading to beach at Sandy Bay providing those interested constribute an equal amount, work to be done to the satisfaction of the Board. That thft daymen be employed to fill in work required"'at the wharf.
