Utilisation of Water Power.

Dunedin, March 6. An application of the Town Clerk on behalf of the Corporation for the right to use the water of the Taieri river for generating electricity as a motive power for the city tramways and illuminating purposes was granted by Warden Carew, subject to the license being transferred to the Corporation before construction of dam, and on condition that the Corporation is liable for any damage caused through construction, breaking away, or failure of works.
