An Escape from the Burnham Industrial School.

Wellington, January 21.

A boy who had escaped from Burnham Industrial School, having stowed away on a steamer from Lyttelton, was brought before the S.M. to-day, and was ordered to be sent back to the institution, and to be whipped with a birch. The youngster was subsequently placed in a cell at the Police Station, but he wriggled through the aperture used for paßsing food to the inmates, and quickly vanished. He has not yet been recaptured.
