Auckland, January 14.

Nathan's bonded store and gum and produce store "were let to Me Wheeler. The building and stock were insured iv the Norwich Union office for £51,500, and largely reinsured. The loss ebovethe insurance is estimated at £20,000. The reinsurances include South British £2500; Commercial Union £2500 ; Phoenix £7500. The American Tobacco Co. lost in Nathan's bond cigarettes and tobacco worth £6,000, fully covered in the Norwich office. Mr Wheeler was insured in the New Zealand Office, but expects that he will be a heavy loaer. Bond and Bell were insured for £1400 in the Phoenix, and £300 in the Alliance. They expect to lose £700 additional. Their building was owned by Mr Yates, and insured for £4000. Marks and Maddox subleased a portion of Bond and Bell's store, and were insured in the Victoria office for £500. The loss is estimated at £200 additional. T« Mackay and Co.'s large stock is. not a total loss. It was insured in the Northern Assurance office for £600, and the National for £400. Heather Brothers were insured in the Northern Assurance for £900, which about covers their loss. The building occupied by them is owned by Brown, Bartlett, add Co., and is damaged to the extent of £350. It is insured in the New Zealand office for £1166. G. W. Owen is covered by £1750 on the buildings and £1000 on the stock, both a total loss. F. Tucker is insured with the New Zealand Insurance Company for £1250. W. S. Laurie and Co. are insured in the New Ze land office for £2000, and the building for £2000. The stock and building were damaged, 'and the loss of stock is considerable. The Loan and Mercantile Company's building was uninjured, but probably it bad its contents damaged by water. The insurance is in the Alliance office for £250.
