PRESENTATIONS.

Mb W. W. Chisholm, who for many years has been President of the United Cricket Club was on January 9th the recipient of a presentation in the focm of an amber goldmounted cigar and cigarette holder and cigarette case by the members of the Club on the eve of his departure to take up fresh duties in Wanganui in connection with the firm of Messrs Slanders & Co. The Mayor (Mr J. A. flarley), in making the presentation, referred to MrChisholm's long connection with the Club, and the interest he had taken in the cricket field, and to the esteem in which he was held as a citizen ! and a gentleman who had a host of good qualities. He regretted to lose Mr Chisholm from the community, but wished him happiness and prosperity in his new sphere. Messrs H. Baigent, President of the Nelson Cricket Association, and Mr Stiles, as captain of the Club, also referred to the loss that would be sustained by Mr Cbisholm's departure, but wished him every success. Mr Chisholm, who was taken by surprise replied, and thanked the Club and the 1 speakers for their valuable presentation and kindly references. These he would always treasure, and they would be a pleasant memento of the many • years spent in Nelson and his association with the Club, both of which he would never forget. Three cheers were then given for Mr Chisholm, and three more for Mrs Chisholm, and the former's health was subsequently drunk and prosperity wished him. A vote of thanks to the Mayor and Mr Baigent for their attendance was passed, and a pleas&nt gathering terminated.
