ALPINE REPORT.
[By Telegbaph.] (skom our own co-respondent, Lyem., January 21. The Alpine mine manager, reports :— The So. 7 level has been redriven for a farther distance of 1$ feet,'making the total distance 68 feet. The irregular body of stone, from 18 inches to 2 feet 6 inches, is still being oarried along, and it is of very fair quality.' Stopingis still progressing on the branch reef in $6. 10 level, the -width of stone being ! from 3to s ; feetl" Work is also being continued in the stopes above the north extension of No. 11 level, the. reef being from 2 to 5 feet wide. The crosscut in the south ! end of the intermediate level between No. 10 and 11 has been driven in for a total distance of 18 feet, but 'did not develop anything of importance, and the man have therefore been put on to'stope, above the intermediate. The winze in the north end of No. lflevel has been sunk a further depth of 10 feet, making the total depth 61 feet. A small reef was struck in the early part of the week
