Attorney Charged with TreasonCapetown, January 15. An attorney' named jVermootin has been arrested on a charge of treason His offence consisted in inducing Britishers at Dordrecht, in the north-east part of Cape Colony, to sign an agreement of neutrality on behalf of the Free State. Martial Law in Northern Cape Colony January 17. Martial law has been proclaimed in the Hopetown and Philliptotfn districts; [Hopetown is on the railway line to Kitnberley, on the Orange river, at the souths' west extremity of the Orange Free State, and Philliptown is south-east of Hopetown about mid-way to Colesburg.] Trouble in SwazilandPlotting Against British. The Queen-Mother in Swaziland, whose death is contradicted, has killed all the chiefs who recently visited England and the Cape. Phe is now plotting with the Boers
