MOTUEKA.
The ordinary monthly meeting of this Board was held on the sth mat., the members present being Messrs F. G. Batchelor, J. B. Jordan and B. W. H. Bankin.
Mr Jordan was re-elected chairman.
The minutes of the previous monthly meeting having been read and adopted, accounts for £6 15s 5d were passed for payment.
A memo was received from the Waimea Council, notifying payment of £40 subsidy, also a circular from the Agricultural Department, r« inspection of cows and dairies.
Besolved that the members go round and inspect all roads and have such repairs done as they think advisable.
Kesolved that any person leaving open or damaging any gate on a public road when suoh gate has been erected by authority of the Board and maintained in accordance with law shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £2.
Kesolved that tenders be invited for the supply of carts and horsei for a period of 12 months, and that application for the position of a dayman for a like period at 6s per day be also invited.
Eesolved that the question of the liability of ratepayers to clear gorse from the roads adjoining their properties be considered at the next ordinary meeting.
Sitting as a Board of Health, it was resolved thai Dr. Deok be asked to act as medical adviser to the Board.
