Wellington Notes.

[Bx Telegraph.] (from our own correspondent.) Wellington', September 30. The Old Age Pensions Bill made more rapid progress last night after the supper adjournment, and with the exception of clauses 2(i and 31, which were postponed, was passed down to clause 35 before the House rose. Last Monday having been monopolised by the Pensions Bill, the House resolved to-day that next Monday should be devoted to private members' Bills and some local Bills. The Premier promised a later day also for the purpose of completing the latter. Imprest Supply Bill No. 4 was brought down this afternoon, and passed the House at 8 p.m, and was sent on to the Council. I believe that the Opposition ceased from further obstruction on condition that the House should adjourn on the Pensions Bill at midnight, or when clause 47 is reached. No. 43, being a debateable one, has been adjourned on a division, and 44 is now (11.15) under review. Next week should see the Bill through Committee. Among the votes in the Public Works Estimates set down for the Nelson constituency are the following : — Lunatic Asylum including unexpended balance of last year's vote £3000 ; Aniseed Valley road £50, additional, making £200 ; Maitai road, £50 additional ; Nelson end of Nelson-Blenheim j road, £150 ; Wairoa Gorge, £50 additional ; Croixelles-Elaine Bay Track, £100 ; French Pass, Admiralty Bay, and Croixelles Tracks, £200; Nydia Bay-fiavelock Track, £150;! Maitai Valley bridges, £200 ; Wairoa river, £ for £ subsidy not exceeding £250. !
