Mori Deputation.
Auckland, Septembers. c A deputation of four native chiefs, and " 2o of the recently disaffected Maoris, * introduced by Mr Hone Heke, M.H.R., j waited on the Hokianga County Council at ] Rawene, and asked the Council to lighten ( the costs incurred in the 39 dog tax cases, on which judgments were lately obtained. \ The Council decided to urge the Government to rduce the costs to an amount not exceeding the actual expense incurred.
