I Result of the Battle. i Cario. September 4. Lieut. E. S. Grenfiell, 12th Lancers, and Lieut Caldecott of the i Yorkshire regiment, were the only I British officers killed at Omdurman. Lieut. Greafiell fell while leading ; brilliant charge. The 21st Lancera lost 21 killed, 20 wounded.^The

British loss at the battle 'was 10C and the Egyptians lost 200. Herr Neufeld, an Austrian, who fca. been held prisoner since the capture of Khartoum by the Mahdi, was found at Omdurman and released, with 150 other prisoners.
