Wellington, August 22.

Simmons, as a keeper of a.ga&ing house, was to-day fined £50 and costs, or three months in gaol. Five others were fined £1 each and costs.

Thos. Byan, bookmaker, was fined £15 and costs for laying tote odds, and he was allowed a week to pay. H. Lake, wno made a bet with him, was fined 10s and costs.
