Mb Graham, member for the City, having urged upon the Government the necessity of authorising the expenditure of several ! small votes for works in this district, which he had succeeded in having placed on the Estimates last session, he has now received intimation that the following have been authorised, and instructions given for the works to be proceeded with at once : — Improving track at the head of the Opouri Valley and over the saddle to Tuna Bay, Pelorus Sound, a work badly required j by settlers especially to facilitate the driving of stock to Nelson market, £150.

Maitai road, in further continuation oi work done last year, £100.

Aniseed Valley, a new piece of road to obviate the necessity of crossing two oft-

times dangerous fords at the part known as " The Forks," £150.

Neudorf-Dovedale road, £50. The Upper Moutere Road Board is authorised to expend this money. Wangamoa road, from the Half-way House towards the sea, £100. The Suburban North Road Board is authorised to proceed with this work. The first thre6 works are to be carried out under the direction of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Nelson.
