New Plymouth, February 14. ln the Magistrate's Court before Mr Stamford, S.M., two defendants were each fined £2 and costs for selling art union tickets in connection with the Normanby Horticultural Show in which the prizes offered were not works of art. Mr Stamford said tbat in future cases he sbould want Bome very strong reason against inflicting the maximum penalty of £900.
