LORD BRASSEY ON THE JUBILEE.

London, September 1. Lord Brassey contributes an article to the current number of the ' Nineteeth Century * in which he describes the speeches and display in Melboui'ne on the occasion of the Queen's Record Reign as worthy of the finest city in Europe. The popular welcome given to the colonial representatives in England, Lord Brassey adds, cemented the union of hearts between the Mother and the daughter States. This union of hearts is the bedrock of formal engagements for mutual succour and support in peace and war.
