Prospecting at the Thames.

Auckland, May 20. Negotiations are completed to secure proa, pecting rights over an area of IGO,OOO acre 3. This large block of land belongs to the Thames Valley Company, and a strong English syndicate haa been granted a right to prospect this area for twelve months, also the right to renew for five years, and there is I a^purchasing olause for the whole block of land. The intention of the syndicate is to put on a lot of men to prospect this ground, as; about 50,000 acres are supposed to be auriferous.
