Wesleyan Conference.
Wellington, Maroh 6. At the mioistsrial sesßion of the Weßleyan Conference, it was resolved to send letters of sympathy to the Beva. Lawry, Workes, Best, Ri9hworth, Watkin and Smith, all of Auckland, and MoFarlane, of Christohnroh, supernumerary s, who were unable to be present owing to age and infirmity. Gratitnde and pleasure was expressed beoause of the presenoe of tbe fievs Eirk and Bowse, two of the oldest members of the ministry. It was decided to hold a momter Temper* anoe meeting next week. Tbe Revs Beady, Lawry and Sm th were appointed to deliver addresses. Tbe oral theoiogioal examination cf candidates for Ordinat on was oonducted by the Rev Mr Garland, who avoided most of the ordinary and antiquated questions, and dealt with mainly modern phases of theologioal thought. The young men were equal to the oooasion, aid gave evidence of their knowledge of thought and the writings of the day, while the questions and answers gave proof of truly evangelistic belief, they evidenoed an intelligent gtasp of reoent researob. The young men were reoeived into full connection, and^ are to be ordained on Monday night. The President announoed that during the year the Beys H O Oraddock, M A and A H Judklns had voluntarily retired. At the representative oonference the reoomneodation that the regulations and rules of tbe loan fund and Home Missions be printed onoe in five years, instead of annually as at present, was lost. It was deoided to have the minutes of the Conference pi in ted in tbe same way as those of the Australasian Conference. A recommendation from the Auokland Synod to alter the boundaries of the Cambridge and Hamilton circuits was resisted by the Hamilton oirouit, and an appeal made to tbe conference. Tha Rev J. Simmonds thought it was unwise to do anything at this Btagf, and the tonfe rence agreed to refer the matter baok to the oircnita. With regard to two oiroaits in Palmerston North it was resolved that the two cirouits remain as at present, bat that the circuits be earnestly requested to consider the question of union, j The oonference adjourned until Monday. j
