Tbe Sydney Harbor Colliery Coy bas purohaatd a large block of land at Balmain, and bas signed a contract for sinking two Bhafts for coal to a depth of 2960 feet. Thepe are to be completed in two jears, and it ia t>xpeoted that a quarter of a million pounds will be expended before coal ia brought to tbe sarface.
