Drowning Fatality.

Auckland, December 18.

Jeremiah Olive, aged 9, was drowned while bathing at Helensville. Two boys aged 13 and 11, tried to rescue him, but failed. His brother aged 14, hearing the alarm, ran down to the bank, and jumped in with his clothes on and reaohed the deceased just as the latter's head was coming to the surface. The drowning lad put his arms around his brother's neck, but immediately afterwards let go, and sank and never rose again. The jury expressed a high opinion of the braVery of the boys who had attempted to rescue the deceased, especially of that of his brother Samutl.
