COLLINGWOOD.
(From our own Correspondent.) Bash fireß are still raging in various parts of the distriot, and I am sorry to have to report ghat some of the settlers have had their 1 grass crops, which were shut up for hay, destroyed. Timber is being largely exported, and the Clyde, which ocly arrived on Tuesday, ex-* peats to leave to-day timber- laden for Lvttelto->. Mr MoKenzie, M.H.R , has paid us a brief visit, and his supporters entertained him at a banquet, which was well got up by Mr and Mra O. Riley. M s Boggis who some time ago had her th'gh broken by a fall from her horse, is slowly recovering. It is hoped that there will be no permanent defeot from the injury. Collingwood, December 9th 1896,
