The bride, who looked very pretty indeed, was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses Ellen aud Maude Gibbs. There is to be a large gathering this evening at the house of the bride's father, Mr Joseph Gibbs, of Church Valley. This afternoon the church was again crowded, lhis timo to ace the union of Miss Lilian Thomas, daughter of Mr James Thomas, of Wakefield; and Mr Spencer Franklyn, son of Major Franklyn of Wakefield. The bride, who was tastefully dressed in cream nuna veiling, looked lovely The two bridesmaids were Misses Cecilia Franklyn and Ella Thomas. Mr Leonard Fowler acted as besJ man. The bride was given away by her father. The church choir sang suitable hymns on both occasions, and showers of rice greeted each happy pair as they drove from church. The guests at the wedding of Mr Franklyn and Miss Thomas being* so numerous, the breakfast took place in the Temperance Hall. After speeches had been made, a vote of thanks passed to the Bey C. W Jennings, and Auld Lang Syne had been sung, Mr and Mrs Spencer Franklyn drove off to their new home, Top House. The numerous wedding presents were costly and useful, amongst them were three valuable oil paintings by -Mrs and Miss F. Franklyn, ani silver fruit knife given by the Major (an old heir loom) , a piano from the bride's father, a silver butter knife from her Sunday School class, a tea-set by the teachers and choir, and a silvermounted pipe for the bridegroom from his friends. The weather was at first showery, but turned out perfection. Wakefield, 6th October, 1896.
