Wellington* Sept mber 96. At a masting of tha Cit7 Counoil to-night t was decided to make a farther grant to the anempfoyed fund of £250. This makes b :otal cf £750 for this winter. It was also decided that 69 additional eleotrio lights be placed in the city, the Mayor stating that with thee, and when Bteam power was ÜBed for driving the dynamos, Wellington will bef the best-lighted city in the iustralae r an Colonies. It was alao resolved that the salary of future mayo is be 200 guineas, instead of 100 is at present, The names of Messrs Luke (the present mayor). George Fisher, and J. R. Blair, are imentioned n oonneotion with the nest mayoralty.
