The Kennedy is due from Westport to-day, and remains here for a lengthened overhaul And repairs. The Waverley is due at Greymouth to-day from Patea. Tbe Aoiere was to leave Patea last night for Opuoake and Wellington. The Charles Edward ia due at Westport this morning, and proceeds to Greymoutb. The Waiuui arrived from Picion and Wellington at 10.20 a.m. yesterday, and aa iled at noon for the West Coast. The Penguin arrivei from YVtl.mgton at j 11.45 a.m. yesterday, and sailed at 1.45 p.m. for Pioton, Wellington and South. The Mawhera waa unab c to leave Greymouth yesterday afternoon, owing to tue heavy sea on tbe bar. She will arrive hero late to-night, and sail by same tiJe at 1 a.m. to-morrow for Wellington direot. The Grafton leaves Wellington at 1 p.m. to-day, will arrive btre to-morrow morning, •nd Bftil at 2 p.m. for West Coast ports. The Mahinapua, with the Southern portion of the Sau Franoisoo mail, arrives at Wellington from Onehunga tois afternoon. The Nelson portion will probably Le forwarded on by the Grafton. The. 'Lily sails at 11 o'clock this morning for Motueka. Tbe Lady Barkly leaves for Motueka at 1 a.m. to-day. During the passage across tbe Sonthera Ootau of the Wh te Star liner Aberdb.n, which arrived at Sydney on the 12th August, ■he passed an immense berg on July 25tb, iv l»t- 45.35 S., locg. 59 ii. Oa the following day several large icebergs were seen, but tbe Aberdeen, being well under control, was able to make her escape from tbtm. Finding the construction of a new steamer to replace tbe ill - fated Catterthun, her running will be taken up by the ss Pathan, and tbe Eafettra and Australasian b.S. Company have ordered a new 3teamer for tho trade from Messrs R. Napier & Sons, of Govan. She will register 35i0 tons, be built of steel, and bave triple expansion engines. Her speed will be 14 knots, and abe will be fitted with refrigerating machinery.
