( TBy TELEGBAPk.] (Per United Press Association.) Melbourne, July 13. At the V.R.C. Winter Meeting there was a large attendance, and the weather was fine. The chief event was the Grand National Steeplechase, wbioh resulted ; — Daimio 1, i Dart 2, Caerpaspe 3. Fourteen ethers Btatted. Won easily by five lengths ; time, Omins 43aecs, Wellington, Jaly 13. j At the Hunt Club races to-day the weather wa3 fine, and the attendance about 800, includif g Lord and Lady Glasgow and family. The cum of £3,141 was being pot through the mashineß, being £27 more than last year. There were cot many skills, and fortunaiJy none of the riders were injured. The following are the results : — Maiden Steeplechase I Gladstone 1, Silent Friend 2 ; Wangaimoana finished first, but could not pull the weight. Div., £5. Open Hurdles : Hopeful 1, Unity 2, Spreydon 3 ; won by a neck. Div., £1 15s. Hunt Olub Steepleobasa : Gyms 1, Mogul 2, Seddon 3 ; won easily. D.v., £5 10s. Open Stespleoh&se : Dromedary 1, Außtral 2, Awarua 3 ; won easily. Liv., i6. Ladies' Bracelet I Edition 1, Makamaka 2, Gyros 3 ; won by a length and a half. Div., £4 6s. Hack Race; Bona fide beat 11 others. Div., £11 15s. Hunters' Hurdles*. Bird 1, The Cadger 2, Pyrites 3 ; won ea?ily. Div., £8 ss.
